Novice Rep Takes Silver
The Langton Lions Novice Rep team played in the Ryan O’Reilly Goderich Rep tournament on the weekend. The first game saw the Leafs face the home team Goderich where they played a solid game which resulted in an 8-0 win. Simon S. Led the way with 5 goals, Roman V., CohenS. And Jayson C.also scored with the shutout by Tyken D.

In the second game the Leafs faced a scrappy South Bruce team but Leafs proved too powerful and won 15-2. Roman V. and Simon S. had 5 goals each followed by Ryan D. with 2, Cohen S. and Jayson C. also scored. The third game the leafs played a tough Clinton squad but grinder them down to a 9-3 victory. Roman V. had 4 goals, Simon S. 3 goals with Jayson C. and Cohen S. with a goal. Finishing first in their division put the Leafs into the Championship game against the other division winner Tavistock. The Championship game was the most exciting Novice game that the tournament organizers had ever witnessed. Tavistock took a 3-1 lead only to see the Leafs battle back to take a 4-3 lead of their own late in the third period. Two quick goals by Tavistock gave them the lead back with under a minute to play in the contest. A never die attitude by Langton however tied the game 5-5 before the final buzzer which led to sudden death overtime. Unfortunately the Leafs fell short and lost 6-5 to the talented Tavistock squad. Simon S. Scored 3 goals with Jayson C. and Cohen S. Scoring the others. It was a great tournament played by the Novice Leafs and they look forward to a certain rematch in the near future.

Erie Shores Wind Farm
Erie Shores Wind Farm consists of 661 General Electric SLE1.5 wind turbines/generators located along the north shore of Lake Erie between Copenhagen and Clear Creek, Ontario. The electrical energy generated by the wind turbines is collected and delivered by 34.5 kV lines, which ultimately deliver the power to the Port Burwell substation. At the substation, the voltage is increased to 115 kV for delivery to Ontario’s transmission grid. All electricity generated by Erie Shores is sold to the Ontario Power Authority under a power purchase agreement. Erie Shores is one of the largest wind power facilities in Ontario, representing approximately 4.8% of Ontario’s installed wind power capacity.
